Editorial Standards

Articles on gender and relationships often turn complex research into confident slogans. Ivan Dorian aims to make the discussion clearer: show what is known, what remains contested, and where interpretation begins.

Our editorial principles

  • Evidence before certainty. Use credible research and primary sources where possible. Verify statistics, quotations, and claims against their original context.
  • Separate findings from interpretation. Make clear whether a statement is an established finding, a statistical pattern, an expert view, or the author’s analysis.
  • Respect variation. Averages do not define individuals. Consider differences in culture, circumstance, personality, and life experience.
  • Address counterarguments. Present meaningful competing explanations and explain why the evidence may support one conclusion more strongly—or remain inconclusive.
  • Be candid about limits. Describe uncertainty, methodological limits, and evidence that points in different directions. Never invent data, sources, or quotations.
  • Handle sensitive topics carefully. Claims about psychology, mental health, or health receive stronger scrutiny and sourcing.

Corrections and updates

If a material factual error is identified, the article should be corrected and updated. Conclusions may also change when stronger evidence becomes available; updates should reflect that rather than quietly preserving an outdated claim.
